About the position

Rubenstein Law, P.A. is seeking a dedicated Paralegal to join our team in Miami, FL. As a Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys to enforce and defend clients' legal rights, particularly in the realm of personal injury law. Your role will involve drafting pleadings and motions, managing a caseload from initial filing through trial and post-trial, and ensuring that all legal documents are filed accurately and timely in both State and Federal courts. You will also be responsible for calendaring all events, participating in client meetings, and maintaining regular contact with clients to keep them informed about their cases. In addition to managing deadlines for case progression, you will assist with trial preparation, which includes creating trial binders, preparing exhibits, and redacting sensitive information. Your ability to communicate clearly and concisely with team members, clients, opposing counsel, and judicial employees will be crucial in this role. You will also coordinate and schedule meetings, notice hearings, depositions, and other litigation-related proceedings, ensuring that the attorney's calendar is well-organized and that travel arrangements are made when necessary. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to manage a large caseload while complying with strict deadlines, all while providing excellent legal support to the team. Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and the ability to utilize firm technology programs will be essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload from initial filing through trial and post-trial
  • Draft and file legal documents and pleadings in State and Federal court
  • Draft and file discovery and manage discovery compliance
  • Communicate in a clear and concise manner with team members, clients, opposing counsel, judicial employees/clerk, and other legal professionals
  • Coordinate, schedule, and calendar meetings, case-related deadlines, notice hearings, depositions, and other litigation-related proceedings
  • Manage Attorney's calendar and assist with attorney travel arrangements when needed
  • Provide excellent legal support to the team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist with trial preparation (trial binders, exhibits, redacting, etc.)
  • Data entry in firm management system pertaining to case related matters

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Personal Injury Litigation experience preferred, but not required
  • Excellent client communication skills
  • Strong multitasking skills, highly organized, and detail-oriented
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced work environment, take direction, and work with little supervision
  • Able to manage a large caseload and comply with deadlines
  • Knowledge of State and Federal court statutes, rules, and procedures
  • Familiar in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the ability to become proficient in firm technology programs
  • Familiar with legal terminology, court proceedings and drafting pleadings, discovery, and legal documents
  • Familiar with court procedures, courtMap, JAWS, and e-filing via e-portal
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
