About the position

Gopuff is seeking a practical, organized, and business-focused professional to assume a role in the legal department. This position is designed for a smart, hardworking, independent, self-starter who enjoys learning and taking on new challenges. The legal department at Gopuff supports all aspects of the business, and the selected candidate is expected to be an individual contributor supporting the business from day one. Given the fast-paced environment at Gopuff, the professional should be adaptable and ready to support various projects. While initial responsibilities are outlined below, they are expected to expand and evolve over time to encompass a wide range of legal-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience managing litigation but will also be eager to learn additional skills and take on more responsibilities on the commercial side of the legal department.

Responsibilities

  • Process and respond to subpoenas and information requests, including gathering information within the company.
  • Support the litigation and dispute department, including analyzing disputes and settlements, investigating disputes, organizing legal files, processing litigation holds, and reviewing legal mail.
  • Review and process data privacy access requests.
  • Support the management of alcohol and tobacco license renewals.
  • Assist in the review of non-disclosure agreements and other commercial agreements.
  • Develop and institutionalize compliance routines, including audits.
  • Conduct legal research as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience working in-house preferred.
  • General litigation, compliance, and/or paralegal experience preferred.
  • Data privacy experience a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships across the organization's various departments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize, remain organized, and execute effectively within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • A detail-oriented, self-starter attitude with the ability to think critically and exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.
