About the position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. As a Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our attorney in various legal matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and research skills who is passionate about the legal field. In this role, you will assist the attorney in preparing legal documents, conducting legal research, and maintaining case files. You will also be responsible for preparing and filing legal documents with the court system, coordinating with clients and witnesses, and scheduling meetings and court appearances. Your ability to draft correspondence and communicate effectively with clients will be crucial in this position. Additionally, you will perform various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the legal office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorney in preparing legal documents, such as pleadings, contracts, and briefs
  • Conduct legal research using various resources, including CaseText and other online databases
  • Organize and maintain case files and documents
  • Prepare and file legal documents with the court system
  • Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
  • Schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances
  • Assist in document review and analysis
  • Draft correspondence and communicate with clients on behalf of attorneys
  • Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, managing calendars, and maintaining office supplies

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Paralegal or similar role
  • Proficient in using document management systems and legal software
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Familiarity with CaseText or similar research tools is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Google Suite & Efile
  • Strong knowledge of Local Rules for Travis and Contiguous Counties
  • Familiarity with drafting and responding to discovery
  • Ability to keep track of attorney and personal time spent working on cases
  • Familiar with intaking new clients and procedures involved
