About the position

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal with a minimum of 2 years in the legal field to join a well-established law firm in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals looking to advance their legal careers and make a significant impact within a reputable firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to Shareholders and Attorneys, ensuring that all legal processes are handled efficiently and effectively. The role involves a variety of tasks including the creation and preparation of Excel documents, data input, and the use of simple formulas. The Paralegal will be tasked with typing pleadings, briefs, and correspondence, as well as proofreading documents to ensure accuracy. Proficiency in working with PDF documents is essential, as the candidate will need to convert Word documents to PDF, extract pages, and create forms. Additionally, the role requires tracking changes, formatting, and printing Word documents. The Paralegal will also be responsible for preparing and drafting legal documents and correspondence, filing pleadings with courts and administrative agencies, including e-filing. Other duties include processing new client matters, coordinating the opening of new files, and maintaining client files. The candidate will enter, review, and correct attorneys' time entries, prepare and submit expense reports, schedule client meetings, manage calendars, and make travel arrangements. Organizing documents and files, preparing files for off-site storage, and maintaining logs for files sent off-site are also key responsibilities. The role may require providing coverage for the reception desk, answering phones, and greeting clients as needed. Collaboration with other assistants and staff is essential to ensure smooth operations within the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support to Shareholders and Attorneys at the firm.
  • Creating and preparing Excel documents; data input and simple formulas.
  • Typing pleadings, briefs, correspondence, and proofreading documents.
  • Working with PDF documents; converting Word documents to PDF, extracting pages, and creating forms.
  • Tracking changes, formatting, and printing Word documents.
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents and correspondence, filing pleadings with courts and administrative agencies, including e-filing.
  • Processing new client matters, coordinating new file opening, and maintaining client files.
  • Entering, reviewing, and correcting attorneys' time entries.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working as a Paralegal in a law firm is preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Impeccable organizational and communication skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to strictly maintain client and firm confidentiality.
  • A client-focused attitude, flexibility, and the ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively within a team.
  • A satisfactory result on a post-offer background screening.
