The Paralegal position at Santander Bank N.A. is designed to ensure the highest quality of client satisfaction by addressing general inquiries and providing support in various legal and operational tasks. The role involves reviewing loan documentation and collaborating with internal operational and portfolio management teams to respond to client needs promptly. The paralegal will take immediate action to address issues as they arise, escalating them when necessary. This position requires proactive engagement in offering creative solutions to enhance the client experience and may involve participation in or leadership of projects as needed. Additionally, the paralegal will contribute to process standards and documented procedures, ensuring compliance and efficiency in operations. To succeed in this role, the individual must possess a strong understanding of legal documentation, particularly in the context of loan reviews. The position demands excellent customer service skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and a keen analytical mindset to identify and resolve exceptions. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential, as the paralegal will interact with various levels of management and internal departments. The role is hybrid, requiring three days a week in the Dallas, TX office, and involves minimal physical effort, with occasional lifting and moving of equipment as needed for meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure highest quality of client satisfaction by responding to clients on general inquiries.
  • Review loan documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal operational and portfolio management areas to respond to client needs in a timely manner and take immediate action to address issues as they arise, escalating when appropriate.
  • Input data accurately and efficiently.
  • Proactively offer creative solutions to enhance the client experience.
  • Participate in and sometimes lead projects as needed.
  • Contribute to process standards and documented procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience as a paralegal is an absolute requirement.
  • Customer service, business process, or project management experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Understanding of legal documentation.
  • Experience reviewing loan documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and interpret data.
  • Proven customer service/relations skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and internal departments.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and exceptional problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • Knowledge of bank products, procedures, and customer service.
  • Knowledgeable in lending regulations.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, and follow through on deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
