About the position

As a Paralegal at The Stone Group of Companies, you will play a crucial role in providing a wide variety of legal services to management. Your responsibilities will encompass transactional work, including legal document review and negotiation, as well as litigation preparation and potential dispute resolution. You will be involved in tasks such as reviewing documents, attending meetings, conducting legal research, and assisting in various projects that support the legal department's objectives. This position requires a motivated individual who can effectively manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high level of organization and communication. In this role, you will draft, review, and modify various contracts, ensuring that all legal documents meet the necessary standards and requirements. You will also be responsible for reviewing and summarizing depositions, discovery requests, and basic pleadings, which are essential for litigation preparation. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you review, summarize, and analyze due diligence materials, and research various legal issues that may arise in the course of your work. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the legal field while working closely with management and other departments within the company.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Paralegal Studies or certificate in a Paralegal program
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficient in legal writing, critical analysis, and contract administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and electronic document preparation and editing (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to effectively manage processes by tracking progress, organizing information, and coordinating with internal and external parties
  • Interest in in-house transactional work involving real estate, manufacturing, and construction industries
