About the position

The Paralegal position at Greenfield Staffing Solutions in Orlando, FL, is a full-time role that requires a hybrid work arrangement. Initially, the selected candidate will need to work full-time in the office to acclimate to the firm's culture, processes, and to build relationships with the team. This role is designed for an individual with paralegal experience who can effectively support multiple attorneys simultaneously, particularly in the context of insurance defense firms. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work and ensure that all outputs reflect the firm's standards of quality and professionalism. Additionally, the position necessitates billing time for the work performed, which is a critical aspect of the role. The primary responsibilities of the paralegal include drafting various legal documents such as memoranda, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence. The paralegal will also be responsible for organizing, charting, and processing incoming records and invoices, as well as following up on outstanding records through various communication methods including telephone, email, and regular mail. Managing a large caseload while working with multiple attorneys is essential, as is reviewing documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure. The paralegal will conduct case law research using Lexis and public access websites to assist in developing defense strategies and will assist attorneys in preparing for mediation and trial. Additionally, the role involves retrieving documents from and saving them to the document management system.

Responsibilities

  • Draft legal memoranda including pleadings, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and discovery motions.
  • Organize, chart, and process incoming records and invoices.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
  • Billing experience.
  • Experience in drafting legal documents.
  • Familiarity with courts, including e-filing.
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
