We are looking for an experienced paralegal with preferred experience in corporate law and/or labor and employment law. Paralegals should have at least 1-5 years' experience. The ideal candidate will be eager to support our Firm's attorneys and staff with contracting, calendaring, filing, case management, drafting, legal opinions, motions, written discovery, legal research and analyses, written reports, external correspondence, case management, client file review and analysis, and other related tasks. In this role, you will act as a liaison among various internal departments, assigned clients as well as with third party affiliates, experts, and co-counsels. You will review various types of contracts, agreements, reports and summarize them, draft various types of agreements and templates, and organize documents, files, and coordinate production and other time-sensitive tasks. You will also be responsible for submitting weekly legal summaries to Upper Management with status updates regarding current cases, record requests, upcoming deadlines, and other assigned tasks. Additionally, you may be required to support, complete and/or submit various licensing applications and/or supporting documentation, maintain clients' and company's corporate/organizational required annual filings with the regulatory bodies, and assist in collecting and responding to production requests. Your duties will also include conducting comprehensive legal research on corporate law, healthcare law, pharmacy regulations, employment law, compliance issues, zoning and other related legal issues, concerns, or matters. You will provide insightful analysis and summaries to team members, colleagues, contractors, and lead attorneys, manage and organize legal cases, projects, and documents, and assist HR related immigration issues. Furthermore, you will collaborate with outside counsel in preparing legal documents for litigation matters, including gathering evidence, maintaining case files, and coordinating with external counsel. You will also provide training and guidance to other team members on legal processes and compliance issues, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports, and other documents.

  • Assist in collecting and responding to production requests.
  • Maintain legal records, manage legal billing, and organize litigation folders.
  • Prepare drafts of legal forms and letters.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research on corporate law, healthcare law, pharmacy regulations, employment law, compliance issues, zoning and other related legal issues.
  • Provide insightful analysis and summaries to team members, colleagues, contractors, and lead attorneys.
  • Manage and organize legal cases, projects, and documents.
  • Assist HR related immigration issues.
  • Assist the General Counsel with administrative and clerical work, including making copies, scheduling appointments, etc.
  • Collaborate with outside counsel in preparing legal documents for litigation matters, including gathering evidence, maintaining case files, and coordinating with external counsel.
  • Provide training and guidance to other team members on legal processes and compliance issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, with a strong background in employment, contracts, and corporate matters.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and corporate law.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills; detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently, take self-initiative and be proactive.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to interact professionally and reliably with senior level executives within and outside the company, as well as with customers, vendors, visitors, and other dignitaries.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and document management software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Paralegal certification or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Knowledge/experience relating to healthcare law; pharmacy law; contracts; audits, investigations, negotiations, permitting, and compliance.
