The ideal candidate will be an Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal specializing in Transportation and Personal Injury law. This role requires excellent computer and typing skills to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment. The paralegal will support a firm partner and assist additional attorneys in the litigation section of the firm as needed. It is essential for the candidate to possess superior organizational skills and a deep understanding of the litigation flow, demonstrating the appropriate urgency and initiative in performing tasks that advance cases toward resolution. Key responsibilities include assisting attorneys in preparing and organizing cases for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials. This involves ordering and summarizing records, preparing affidavits and correspondence, conducting legal research, summarizing depositions, e-filing pleadings, scheduling, reviewing and analyzing law sources, and maintaining communication with attorneys and clients. The paralegal must understand how to manage a case from beginning to end, summarizing cases and preparing reports for attorneys, conducting research, investigating facts, and developing legal arguments. Additionally, the role includes drafting legal documents such as contracts, depositions, and pleadings, preparing and filing documents with courts, organizing and archiving documents related to completed and ongoing cases, and keeping track of changes in the legal framework to provide timely updates.
