Ogletree Deakins' Indianapolis, IN office has an opportunity for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its national labor and employment practice. In this role, the Paralegal will perform interesting, sophisticated, and substantive billable work to support Firm attorneys and Fortune 500 clients. The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for a variety of essential functions that include researching law, investigating facts, and independently preparing documents to assist attorneys with matters brought in state and federal courts and with administrative agencies. The role requires summarizing complex legal documents, maintaining, organizing, and indexing complex case files, and e-filing pleadings with state and federal courts. Additionally, the Paralegal will prepare correspondence, draft a wide variety of legal documents, including notices, subpoenas, declarations, and form pleadings, and cite check briefs while preparing supporting exhibits. The position also involves assisting with document collection, review, and production, providing attorney support for hearing and deposition preparation, and preparing for mediations, arbitrations, and trials. The Paralegal will communicate with witnesses and experts, assist with scheduling, and coordinate with the docketing team. Recording and entering billable time in a timely manner is also a critical aspect of this role, ensuring that all work is accurately documented and accounted for.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Paralegal certification from an accredited program or a Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment litigation practice
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Results oriented and superb time management skills
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw, Intapp, LiveNote, Casemap, TimeMap, TrialDirector, Relativity, iManage or other document management systems, expense and billing systems.
