About the position

The Paralegal position at Modivcare is a vital role within the legal department, responsible for a variety of tasks that support the organization's legal functions. This position requires a proactive and forward-thinking individual who is passionate about making a difference in people's lives and enjoys working in a service-oriented industry. The Paralegal will assist with litigation, pre-litigation claims, subpoenas, and other record requests, as well as manage attorney inquiries and administrative matters, all while upholding a high standard of ethical conduct. In this role, the Paralegal will partner with the Legal Leadership team to identify opportunities for tracking trends in cases, subpoenas, and attorney response letters. They will provide litigation support by developing and maintaining files and reports, routing complaints to appropriate parties, and drafting responses to interrogatories and requests for documents. The Paralegal will also design and track subpoena and records requests, providing metrics to inform decision-making and support departmental leadership in developing operational strategies. The position involves managing attorney calendars, scheduling appointments, drafting legal documents, and maintaining a tracking system for attorney inquiries. The Paralegal will also assist with legal department projects aimed at improving efficiencies and creating data-driven decisions. Additionally, they will perform quality control at all stages of eDiscovery workflows, ensuring accuracy and adherence to required production formats. Responsibilities

  • Assist the legal department with litigation, pre-litigation claims, subpoenas, and other record requests.
  • Provide litigation support by developing and maintaining files and reports.
  • Route complaints to appropriate parties and draft responses to interrogatories and requests for documents.
  • Design, track, handle, and report on subpoena, records requests, and attorney inquiry trends.
  • Support implementation of legal hold software integration.
  • Review and respond to all attorney inquiries for claims in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a tracking system on attorney inquiries.
  • Assist with other legal matters for both internal clients and external parties as needed.
  • Manage attorney calendars, docketing, and scheduling appointments.
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence, and organize filing projects.
  • Assist with legal department projects for tracking and efficiency purposes.
  • Document production platform management for litigation-related data.
  • Perform quality control at all stages of eDiscovery workflows.
  • Track, manage, and document eDiscovery requests to completion.
  • Update and follow workflow processes and protocols for internal legal services.
  • Interface with insurance companies regarding coverage issues.
  • Work with client contacts, witnesses, and opposing counsel to obtain pertinent information.
  • Lead projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Four (4) plus years' experience in a legal department, group setting, or firm.
  • Experience with civil litigation highly preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, efficient, and resourceful with exceptional follow-through skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client demands and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with integrity and judgment.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player.
  • Strong desire to function integrally as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google applications and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with eDiscovery processes and tools.
