About the position

We are seeking experienced Paralegals to join our team at RCW Law Firm in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will provide crucial support to attorneys and ensure smooth case management. This position is a contract role with a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility in work location after an initial on-site period. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and organizing legal files and documents, communicating with clients, medical professionals, and court personnel, and assisting in the preparation of various legal documents such as demands, briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and agreements. Additionally, the paralegal will coordinate and schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions, assist in deposition and trial preparation, and attend meetings to provide support. Clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents will also be part of the role, along with proofreading legal documents for accuracy and conducting legal research on various topics as needed. The position requires a proactive approach to bringing in new clients and cases, ensuring that the firm continues to grow and serve its clients effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize legal files and documents
  • Communicate with clients, medical professionals, and court personnel
  • Assist in preparing legal documents such as demands, briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, and agreements
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, hearings, and depositions
  • Assist in deposition and trial preparation and attend meetings to provide support
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and scanning documents
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy
  • Receive and/or issue settlement payments
  • Conduct legal research on various topics as needed
  • Bring in new clients and cases

Requirements

  • Associates degree or higher; and/or paralegal certification
  • Minimum three years of experience
  • Proven experience working in a legal setting or law office
  • Proficiency in legal case management software
  • Strong knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures in a legal environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and professional phone etiquette
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Knowledge of project management principles in a legal context
