About the position

The Paralegal at Mammoth Sports Construction will support the Manager of Legal Services and the Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel by performing a variety of legal tasks. This role involves conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with legal standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and analytical skills, a solid understanding of legal procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research using online databases and other legal resources.
  • Review and analyze statutes, regulatory agency rules and regulations, and local rules/municipal codes.
  • Prepare memorandums on research findings for review by the legal team.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including contracts, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Prepare filings for court, regulatory agencies, and other legal entities.
  • Proofread documents for accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Maintain and organize legal files, ensuring that documents are properly filed and accessible.
  • Assist Project Managers with permitting for construction projects, including research, form preparation, filing, calendaring, and tracking the status of applications through the permitting process.
  • Assist with proposal management and tracking of deadlines and due dates.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies by maintaining accurate records and documents.
  • Assist in managing Mammoth's filings, such as trademark registrations and licensing.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal trends, changes in laws, and best practices in the field of law.
  • Assist Manager of Legal Services and Chief Legal Officer/General Counsel in any other daily administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Paralegal Certificate or Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field from an accredited program, or a Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies or related field with relevant legal coursework.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a paralegal or in a similar legal administrative role, with demonstrated expertise in legal research, document preparation, and case management.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, legal procedures, and document formatting.
  • Proficient in legal research databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
  • Strong technology skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with other internal departments, partners, legal professionals, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Paralegal certification from NALA or NFPA, or another nationally recognized legal organization is a plus.
  • Prior experience in construction, business or corporate law is preferred.
  • Knowledge of e-filing systems and court procedures at local, state and federal levels.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
