About the position
The full-time Paralegal position at Community Legal Services, Inc. focuses on assisting attorneys with the Anne Arundel County Eviction Prevention program. This program provides free legal representation to low-income tenants facing eviction. The role requires in-person court appearances and offers the possibility of remote work when not in court. The ideal candidate should be passionate about helping underserved individuals access legal representation.
Responsibilities
- Assisting attorneys by preparing and updating court case files
- Answering phone calls and assisting with client intakes by phone and in-person
- Updating legal case tracking system with client case information
- Providing clients with referrals for rental assistance and other services
- Coordinating and attending trainings and community outreach events
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Paralegal experience
- Detail-oriented work ability
- Ability to manage competing tasks
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Spanish language proficiency preferred
- Knowledge of housing subsidies and related regulations is a plus
- Ability to multi-task and manage cases, intakes, and client calls
