The Paralegal will work closely with the General Counsel and other attorneys on a variety of legal, transactional, and operational matters affecting the Company, with a heavy emphasis on real estate transactional activity. This role is crucial in ensuring that all legal documentation and processes are handled efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall success of the company. The Paralegal will be responsible for drafting and reviewing land acquisition contracts and related documents, performing title and survey reviews on properties being acquired, and analyzing due diligence associated with property acquisitions. Additionally, the Paralegal will assist in the closing of land acquisition transactions and administer legal and operational issues related to the development, opening, and operation of neighborhoods and the sale of homes. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can summarize and track key contract information, maintain records in the legal department's matter management database, and draft and review various legal documents and correspondence. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive personality, able to manage a heavy workload under deadline pressure, and comfortable with a variety of technology applications. They will represent the company professionally in all interactions and adhere to the company's safety standards and values. This role is essential in supporting the legal team and ensuring that the company operates within the legal framework while focusing on homebuyer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and reviewing land acquisition contracts and related documents
  • Performing title and survey review on the property being acquired
  • Reviewing and analyzing other due diligence associated with the acquisition of property
  • Assisting in the closing of land acquisition transactions
  • Administering legal and operational issues relating to the development, opening, and operation of neighborhoods and the sale of homes
  • Summarizing and tracking key contract information, including critical dates
  • Maintaining records in the legal department matter management database
  • Drafting and reviewing other legal documents, contracts, and correspondence
  • Working on corporate governance matters
  • Researching, organizing, and analyzing legal or factual information as needed
  • Assisting company attorneys on a variety of legal and operational matters to efficiently deliver legal services to the Company

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Paralegal certification is preferred
  • At least 5 years of legal experience
