About the position

A well-established law firm in Tysons Corner, VA, specializing in Labor and Employment Law, is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join their team. This is a direct-hire opportunity, providing a fantastic chance to work with a premier firm in the area. The role involves a variety of essential functions that support case management and client interaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client files using Clio software, ensuring effective communication with clients through Microsoft Outlook, and maintaining accurate client records with Microsoft Excel and Word. Additionally, the paralegal will prepare reports, summaries, and legal documents as needed, assist in the preparation of court documentation, litigation binders, and briefs, and support all aspects of filings, including the preparation of exhibits and document management tasks such as copying and scanning. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both federal and state court procedures, including e-filing requirements. With a minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, particularly in Employment Law, the candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a high level of initiative. A Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Paralegal studies is preferred. This position offers a competitive salary of up to $100,000 per year and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with case management by managing client files using Clio software and managing client communication with Microsoft Outlook software
  • Preparing and maintaining client records using Microsoft Excel and Word software
  • Preparing reports, summaries, and legal documents as needed
  • Assisting in preparing court documentation, litigation binders, and briefs
  • Preparing briefs, exhibits, discovery, and discovery responses for cases
  • Supporting client contact and interaction
  • Assisting in all aspects of filings, including preparation of exhibits, copying, scanning, etc.
  • Providing general attorney and practice group support as required

Requirements

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience
  • Well versed in both federal and state court procedure and filing requirements, including e-filing in federal courts and state courts
  • Employment Law experience is a major plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
  • High level of initiative
  • Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associate's/Bachelor's degree in Paralegal studies, preferred
