About the position

We are a fast-growing law firm located in Kansas City, Missouri, seeking an experienced and dedicated full-time paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of eight years of practical civil litigation experience and a strong familiarity with various legal processes. The candidate should also be tech-savvy and comfortable working with modern legal technology tools. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage busy attorneys' schedules and provide comprehensive support in civil litigation matters. The successful candidate will be expected to assist in preparing legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings, as well as conducting legal research on cases and related topics. Additionally, the paralegal will assist in case management, ensuring that both electronic and physical files are organized and maintained efficiently. Knowledge in Insurance Defense, Municipal Law, and Business matters will be beneficial in contributing effectively to the legal team. Familiarity with e-filing processes in both Federal and State Courts is also essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys in civil litigation matters.
  • Assist in preparing legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings.
  • Conduct legal research on cases and related topics.
  • Assist in case management, including maintaining organized electronic and physical files.
  • Utilize knowledge in Insurance Defense, Municipal Law, and Business matters to contribute effectively to the legal team.
  • Navigate and manage e-filing processes in both Federal and State Courts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight years of practical civil litigation experience.
  • Strong familiarity with various legal processes.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working with modern legal technology tools.
  • Proficiency in using legal technology tools and software.
  • Familiarity with e-filing procedures in both Federal and State Courts.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Superior time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication abilities.

Nice-to-haves
