Our valued client is seeking a Litigation Paralegal in Raleigh to support a group of attorneys within the Litigation practice group through the performance of complex substantive legal duties under the supervision and direction of the attorneys. The role involves organizing and maintaining document-intensive files from the inception of the case through completion, ensuring that all relevant documents are easily accessible and well-managed. The paralegal will conduct factual investigations and interviews to identify key parties, related issues, and relevant documents for the preparation of discovery, which is a critical part of the litigation process. In addition, the Litigation Paralegal will review E-discovery for production and extraction of key documents, assist in preparing answers to interrogatories and responses to requests for the production of documents, including electronically stored information. Coordination of depositions of parties as requested by attorneys is also a key responsibility, along with summarizing and organizing depositions, records, medical records, and testimony utilizing litigation support technology tools. The paralegal will draft various pleadings and filings in Federal and State level civil litigation matters, assisting with all aspects of case litigation and trial preparation, including identifying and marking exhibits for motions, position papers, mediation depositions, and trial. The position requires verifying case citations in briefs for current validity and accuracy through Westlaw, interacting with various government and court officials as well as clients, and maintaining attorney calendars with case deadlines. The paralegal will assist in trial with exhibits, demonstrative aids, and witnesses, maintain timesheets, and meet firm deadlines in accordance with Firm policies. Utilization of document review platforms such as Relativity, Reveal, Casepoint, and Everlaw is expected, along with communication and coordination with experts for key data, reports, and supporting documents. Other duties may be assigned as required.
