About the position

Robert Half is seeking a Tax Paralegal to join a prestigious private client law firm in Chicago, Illinois. The role involves overseeing tax filings for various business entities, managing tax matters for high-profile clients, and ensuring compliance with federal and state tax laws. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax-related paralegal work and a strong understanding of complex tax scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tax filings and duties of all clients including S Corps, LLCs, LLPs, and sole proprietorship entities.
• Provide proficient knowledge and experience in preparing complex tax returns and activities.
• Manage tax matters for high volume and high-profile clients, most of whom are in the hundred-million-dollar range (family offices).
• Evaluate and analyze various tax scenarios, as well as provide insights and solutions to potentially complex tax issues.
• Deliver consistent, accurate, and timely work to meet fast-paced, time-sensitive deadlines.
• Stay updated with ever-changing federal and state-level tax laws and regulations.
• Ensure that all tax-related tasks are completed correctly and on time.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Paralegal in a tax discipline within a company or law firm setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of all types of business entities, with specific emphasis on S Corps, LLCs, LLPs, and sole proprietorship entities.
• Exceptional skills in math and numeracy.
• Experience managing high-profile clients and complex portfolio of assets.
• Advanced understanding of various state tax laws.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proven ability to efficiently manage high-volume work.
