The position is designed to provide essential support to attorneys and the legal team, focusing on various areas of law including litigation, real estate, bankruptcy, loan documentation, contract drafting, leasing, and foreclosure. The role requires a proactive individual who can efficiently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism. In this role, the Paralegal will be responsible for conducting research to analyze legal issues, drafting correspondence and amendments to documents, and managing all types of daily correspondence to ensure timely responses. The Paralegal will also coordinate with outside counsel, serve as the initial contact for legal correspondence, and maintain tracking of all official legal matters, ensuring that deadlines are met. Additionally, the position involves organizing schedules for the legal team, coordinating calendars, and planning travel and meetings. The ideal candidate will possess strong time management skills, excellent communication abilities, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The role requires a minimum of four years of administrative experience in a corporate or professional environment, with a focus on legal administration being highly preferred. The Paralegal must be self-directed, able to handle confidential information with discretion, and willing to adapt to changing priorities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys and the legal team.
  • Research necessary areas to analyze legal issues.
  • Draft correspondence and amendments to legal documents.
  • Manage tracking of all official legal matters in process or closed.
  • Maintain all legal files and retrieve archived files/information as requested.
  • Organize and arrange schedules for the legal team, including trip planning and meetings.
  • Interact with personnel locally and with outside consulting and law firms.
  • Ensure timely response to all types of daily correspondence.
  • Accurately follow complex processes for handling legal matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years demonstrated administrative experience in a corporate or professional business environment.
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills, including grammar and composition.
  • Excellent PC skills with advanced level skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience working on multiple projects with more than one team member simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain security of highly confidential information with discretion.
  • Self-directed with the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Integrity and adherence to high ethical, moral, and personal values.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience preparing legal documents (1 year preferred).
