About the position

Stenger and Stenger, P.C. is a growing and prominent law firm specializing in retail consumer debt collections. As part of our exciting growth plan, we are expanding our Legal Team and are seeking a dedicated paralegal to join our firm. This position is based in the Metro Atlanta area and plays a crucial role in supporting our state attorneys in their duties by performing various paralegal and administrative tasks. The paralegal will be an integral part of the team, frequently communicating and collaborating with other legal team members, including attorneys, county clerks, judges, and consumers' places of employment. The paralegal will be responsible for a range of duties that include prompt response and execution of instructions from the state attorney, direct supervisor, secondary supervisor, Collections Manager, Client Relations Manager, Director of Compliance, Director of Operations, and/or President. This role requires assisting the state attorney and paralegal supervisor in maintaining account files, drafting documents and legal pleadings, and updating case files with court and vendor information. Additionally, the paralegal will review drafted correspondences and pleadings, assemble documentation, and redact and compile case exhibits. This position is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of the legal processes within the firm and requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual.

Responsibilities

  • Prompt response and execution of instructions from state attorney and supervisors.
  • Assist state attorney/paralegal supervisor in maintaining account files.
  • Draft documents and legal pleadings under the guidance of the state attorney.
  • Update case files with court/vendor information as needed.
  • Review drafted correspondences and pleadings for accuracy.
  • Assemble documentation and redact case exhibits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in Law or Legal Studies.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a professional office setting.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
