About the position
The Paramedic ED PRN position at AdventHealth Dade City involves providing critical support and care to patients during transportation. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety and effective communication of medical conditions and treatments. The position is part-time and operates on a PRN (as needed) basis, primarily during day shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provides primary patient care activities on transports approved to be at the ALS level by the EMS Medical Director.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments, as appropriate.
- Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical interventions.
- Inspects and maintains equipment to ensure the safety of transport team members, patients, and the general public.
- Monitors and anticipates needs for additional equipment and appropriately secures tools to meet patient care demands during transport.
Requirements
- One year of medical emergency experience.
- Graduated from a Paramedic program.
- American Heart - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- American Heart - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Paramedic license required from the respective state board and/or respective state equivalent.
