About the position
The Paramedic Lab Assistant position at Lakes Region Community College is a part-time role focused on assisting the primary instructor in delivering psychomotor instruction in the Emergency Medical Services program. The assistant will work under the guidance of the instructor to ensure course objectives are met and provide support in maintaining a safe and organized learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the instruction of courses and/or labs within the Emergency Medical Services program under the direction of the instructor.
- Work with the instructor to ensure course goals and objectives are met and address students' learning needs.
- Oversee students engaged in learning activities and provide feedback to the instructor regarding student progress and accomplishments.
- Assist with the set-up of workstations, equipment, and classrooms.
- Maintain safety and general order in the classroom, lab, and storage areas.
- Comply with all system, college, state, and federal rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate degree from a recognized college or technical institute with a major study in fire technology or a medical-related field.
- Two years of field experience working in either a fire department, hospital, or ambulance service.
- Current nationally registered Paramedic certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Considerable knowledge of the procedures and practices associated with emergency medical services.
- Ability to follow standard laboratory and clinical methods and procedures.
- Ability to maintain student documentation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.

- Flexible work schedule of 8-15 hours per week, 1-2 days per week.
