About the position

The Paramedic at Ottumwa Regional Health Center works under the medical direction of the ED Medical Control physician, providing competent patient care and documentation. This role involves performing duties within the EMT-PS/PM scope of practice, ensuring compliance with daily operations, participating in quality improvement activities, and attending educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent patient care under the medical direction of the ED Medical Control physician.
• Document patient care activities accurately and thoroughly.
• Perform miscellaneous duties within the EMT-PS/PM scope of practice according to Iowa Code 641-Chapter 147A.
• Demonstrate compliance with routine daily operations and quality improvement activities.
• Attend and participate in educational programs and in-services.

Requirements

• Experience (paid or volunteer) as a First Responder, EMT, or Paramedic preferred.
• Current valid Class D (chauffeur) Iowa driver's license.
• Current valid Iowa EMT or PM certification as applicable.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
