About the position

The Paramedic Program Director at Northeast Iowa Community College is responsible for overseeing the Paramedic program, ensuring it meets accreditation standards and effectively prepares students for careers in emergency services. This role involves teaching, curriculum development, student engagement, and program evaluation, all aimed at fostering student success and program sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Remain current with methods and developments in the content area.
• Deliver courses in multiple formats: face-to-face, online, hybrid.
• Utilize current technologies to support teaching.
• Complete delegated teaching assignments in accordance with guidelines.
• Meet all class, office, and college commitments.
• Participate in the development of a cohesive general education program and/or career and technical program.
• Establish a representative program advisory board and respond to recommendations.
• Ensure an ongoing process of curriculum evaluation.
• Commit to the assessment of student learning and follow assessment activity timelines.
• Maintain a classroom environment that supports retention and completion.
• Assist in the placement and success of students through authentic learning and engagement in co-curricular activities.
• Maintain credentials and expertise in accordance with College guidelines and accreditation standards.
• Comply with State and Federal Guidelines regarding student attendance and privacy.
• Participate in program orientations, promotion, and recruiting/enrollment events.
• Contribute as a member of the College community by engaging with students and attending meetings.
• Perform coordination for District-Wide EMS programming and duties of Peosta Campus Paramedic Program Director.

Requirements

• Registered Paramedic licensed in the state of Iowa.
• Baccalaureate degree.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Paramedic.
• Minimum of three years of experience teaching in the emergency services industry.
