About the position

The Paramedic position involves responding to medical emergencies, providing advanced life support, and ensuring patient care during transport. The role requires operating emergency vehicles, assessing patient conditions, and collaborating with medical personnel to deliver comprehensive care. The Paramedic will also maintain equipment, participate in training, and adhere to established medical protocols and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and operate emergency vehicles in response to medical emergencies.
  • Provide initial on-site assessment of patients' conditions.
  • Render advanced life support to ill or injured patients.
  • Prepare patients for transport, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Administer medications and perform medical procedures as required.
  • Monitor and maintain communication with medical personnel during emergencies.
  • Complete and submit patient care records as per established procedures.
  • Assist in training and presentations for other staff members.
  • Participate in quality improvement processes and peer reviews.
  • Interact with other agencies involved in emergency response.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with postsecondary education in emergency medical technology or paramedic science, or one year of experience as an EMT-Basic or higher in a pre-hospital setting.
  • Current NM Paramedic License or AZ Paramedic Certification.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • ACLS Certification.
  • BLS CPR Certification for Health Care Provider.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of local, state, and national emergency medical protocols.
  • Experience in supervisory and management methods.
  • Familiarity with pharmacology and medical terminology.
