About the position

The Paraprofessional for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at Ingham Intermediate School District plays a crucial role in supporting teachers and students in classrooms designed for emotionally impaired and autistic students. This position focuses on implementing educational and behavioral support programs tailored to individual student needs, ensuring a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers in district classrooms for emotionally impaired and autistic impaired students.
• Provides group or individualized academic instruction, remediation, or guided practice using instructional objectives and lessons developed by the teacher.
• Implements program-wide and individual student behavior intervention programs, including monitoring behavior data collection, preparing incident reports, physical intervention, and reward systems under the direction of classroom teachers.
• Supervises and monitors students within non-structured settings such as arrival, departure, lunch, and recess.

Requirements

• Experience working with students with autism or emotional impairments.
• Ability to implement behavior intervention programs and collect data on student behavior.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers and support staff.
