About the position
Every Special Child is seeking a dedicated and qualified Paraprofessional/Paraeducator/Teacher Assistant to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, in various educational settings. The role involves collaborating with teachers and school staff to enhance students' academic and social achievements through tailored support and resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide paraprofessional services, studies, and reports for clients as introduced.
- Assist the teacher with conducting lessons and managing the classroom.
- Develop educational materials to support lesson plans.
- Track student progress throughout the school year and create reports for parents.
- Empower students through programs designed to enhance their academic and social achievements.
- Utilize computers and specialized AV equipment to support teaching during lessons.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of college (48 units) or an Associate's degree (or higher).
- Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with children in a caregiving role (1 year preferred).
- Classroom experience.
