About the position
WAR Ministry Corporation is looking for part-time paraprofessionals to serve as support technicians, focusing on teaching Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to youth with developmental disabilities. The role involves providing in-home individual support services (ISS) and respite services for youth under 21 years old, primarily in various counties including Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Passaic, and Union. Candidates must be reliable, flexible, and possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively support and communicate with the youth and their families.
Responsibilities
- Implement interventions in Behavior Support Plan
- Teach skills to the youth
- Train parent/guardian in implementation of Behavior Support Plan
- Data collection
- Progress Notes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- At least one (1) year of supervised experience in implementing behavior support plans for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
- Ability to follow directions, procedures, and ethical guidelines
- Good analytical/critical thinking skills with the ability to record and track therapy progress
- Ability to communicate and represent self in a professional manner
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Must be reliable and flexible, with a strong work ethic
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
