About the position

The Parent Liaison Clerk position at Yuba City High School serves as a vital link between school staff, parents, and volunteers. This temporary role, funded by a state grant, is designed to enhance communication and coordination among these groups to support student achievement and engagement. The position is set to conclude on June 30, 2025, and requires bilingual skills in Spanish to effectively serve the diverse community.

Responsibilities

  • Enlist and coordinate parents and volunteers to assist in the classroom.
  • Keep records concerning the time and activities of parents and volunteers.
  • Notify parents about various meetings, in-services, and appointments.
  • Contact and locate resource parents for school programs.
  • Locate materials for school projects and pick up materials from parents' homes for delivery to school.
  • Coordinate home/school announcements and newsletters.
  • Complete other tasks assigned involving parents and volunteers.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and speak at a level sufficient to fulfill the duties of the position.
  • Experience in working with people is desired.
  • Knowledge of the school attendance area and general community programs of the specified school.
  • Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Some typing skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is helpful.
