About the position
The Parenting Group Facilitator role is a part-time, temporary position focused on leading the Strengthening Families Program for parents and youth aged 10-14. The facilitator will work with families to enhance bonding, set boundaries, and monitor children's activities through structured sessions that include skills-building for both parents and children. The position requires strong facilitation and presentation skills, as well as a passion for helping families develop effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work with diverse clients
- Ability to be flexible with individuals and activities
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to motivate participants
- Exhibit enthusiasm for family skill-building programs and engage with participants
- Lead activities, including active games
- Share leadership and work with individual families during discussions and projects
- Show video and lead role plays (Sessions 5 & 6)
- Willingness to prepare before the session to lead effectively
- Willingness to teach the program as designed with fidelity
- Willingness to fill out any requested reports and collect participant data
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience in individual/group counseling
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Ability to engage with parents and youth
- Flexibility to work evenings as needed
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in Spanish
