About the position

The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pari-Mutuel Operations Specialist to join its Office of Pari-Mutuel Wagering, Office of Slot Operations. This newly created position is essential for ensuring compliance with Florida's gaming statutes and regulations. The incumbent will serve as the on-site regulatory presence at slot facilities, providing oversight and support during assigned hours. The role involves receiving, verifying, and observing deliveries of slot machines and their components, as well as conducting thorough inspections using approved checklists. The specialist will be responsible for documenting all slot machine adjustments, conversions, and relocations, ensuring that all operations adhere to established guidelines. In addition to regulatory duties, the Pari-Mutuel Operations Specialist will assist with the processing of slot license applications and conduct electronic fingerprinting for applicants. This position requires effective communication with the slot operations supervisor to address any developing issues or concerns. The specialist will also be expected to establish positive working relationships with facility employees and provide exceptional customer service to both the facility and the public. The role is critical in maintaining the integrity of the gaming operations and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site regulatory presence at slot facilities during assigned hours.
• Receive, verify, and observe slot machine and component deliveries.
• Observe and record all slot machine adjustments, clears, conversions, and relocations.
• Conduct software inventory checks related to slot files and stored software.
• Complete inspections using approved checklists and provide regulatory support at assigned licensed slot facilities.
• Observe, record, and report all possible violations, complaints, and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with the slot operations supervisor regarding developing issues and concerns.
• Assist the licensing section with processing slot license applications and fingerprints.
• Process license transfers, upgrades, and renewals as assigned.
• Establish positive working relationships with slot facility employees.
• Provide exceptional customer service to the facility and the public.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures relating to the pari-mutuel industry.
• Ability to collect, record, and verify data relating to the pari-mutuel industry.
• Ability to use available technology including computer software, hardware, and data systems.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as a team to achieve results.
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
