About the position

The Florida Gaming Control Commission is seeking a dynamic Pari-Mutuel Operations Specialist to serve as the on-site regulatory presence at slot facilities. The Commission's mission is to preserve and protect the integrity of gaming activities through fair regulation, licensing, effective criminal investigation, and enforcement. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing slot machine operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to both the facility and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, verifies, and observes slot machine and component deliveries.
  • Conducts inspections using approved checklists and provides regulatory support at assigned licensed slot facilities.
  • Observes, records, and reports all possible violations, complaints, and incidents.
  • Assists with processing slot license applications and fingerprints applicants using the electronic fingerprinting machine.
  • Communicates effectively with the slot operations supervisor regarding issues and concerns of slot operations.
  • Adheres to the Division's mission, vision, and values, and complies with all policies and procedures.
  • Enters accurate hours worked in People First and uses leave in a non-disruptive manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Knowledge of applicable Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures relating to the pari-mutuel industry.
  • Ability to collect, record, and verify data relating to the pari-mutuel industry.
  • Ability to use available technology to perform duties, including computer software, hardware, and data systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work as a team to achieve results.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
