About the position

The Diocese of Toledo is seeking a full-time Parish and Schools Accountant to support Business Managers with operational accounting issues. This role involves providing assistance with QuickBooks, reviewing budgets and annual reports, and collaborating with the Audit & Compliance Manager on various projects. The accountant will also engage with schools for financial planning and manage the School Vitality report.

Responsibilities

• Assist with support for Parish and School accounting via QuickBooks.
• Analyze financial information to assist Business Managers and answer inquiries related to QuickBooks.
• Serve as a liaison between the Hosted Desktop provider and monitor diocesan reporting systems.
• Provide guidance to Pastors, Principals, Business Managers, and Finance Councils regarding accounting principles.
• Review budgets and annual reports for parishes and schools, developing computerized spreadsheets based on financial data.
• Manage school financial reporting metrics and engage the Department of Education as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting in a professional office setting.
• High level of computer expertise in QuickBooks accounting software and Microsoft Office products.
• Exceptional service orientation to respond to inquiries quickly and professionally.
