About the position

The Park Host at LaVern M. Johnson Park is a part-time, seasonal role responsible for maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for park visitors. The host will reside in their own RV on-site and will interact with park users, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with park rules. This position requires collaboration with town employees and law enforcement to enhance the visitor experience and uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Verify cleanliness and stock of restrooms, shelters, and park facilities regularly, especially during weekends.
• Report cleanliness and maintenance issues to Parks and Recreation staff promptly.
• Check and clean grills as needed.
• Assist park users with parking procedures at automated kiosks.
• Regularly patrol the park to monitor compliance with rules and policies.
• Assist with trash and recycling collection to prevent overflow.
• Perform minor maintenance projects as assigned and approved by the Director of Parks and Public Works.
• Maintain a presence in the park and campground, ensuring they are in good condition.
• Assist visitors with questions regarding park usage and regulations.
• Keep an accurate log of events, incidents, and maintenance issues.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and security services as needed.
• Represent the Town positively in all public interactions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Colorado State Driver's License with a good driving history.
• Customer service experience, preferably in campground hosting or public outdoor recreational settings.
