About The Position

The Park Ranger position at North Cascades National Park involves serving as a Law Enforcement Shift Supervisor, responsible for managing law enforcement and emergency services operations. Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Must possess a valid Type I Law Enforcement Commission.
• Must have a current Emergency Medical Technician certification or higher within one year of entry on duty.
• Must pass a medical examination and the Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB).
• Must have a valid State Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in law enforcement or investigative work in a park or conservation area.
• Graduate level education in natural resource management or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Supervise law enforcement duties including detection, investigation, apprehension, and prosecution under applicable laws.
• Direct and supervise area operations including natural and cultural resource protection, law enforcement, search and rescue, and emergency medical services.
• Provide day-to-day supervision to permanent and seasonal rangers engaged in field-based protection operations.
• Assist the Deputy Chief Ranger in managing the park's law enforcement and emergency services program.
• Lead and provide expert advice on issues related to wilderness, EMS, aviation, search and rescue, boating, climbing, and safety.
