About the position

The position involves providing assistance and information to patients, guests, and staff at Carilion Clinic, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth traffic flow at the facility. The role includes managing parking services, assisting special needs patients, and operating shuttle services within a defined radius. The individual will also be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring safety in parking areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance and information to incoming patients, guests, and staff.
• Manage traffic control and maintain accurate documentation regarding valet parked vehicles.
• Project a positive first impression to patients, guests, and staff.
• Manage the flow of traffic at major entry points of the Carilion Clinic campus.
• Greet, direct, and offer assistance to patients and guests in parking areas.
• Confirm patient appointment locations for incoming guests.
• Maintain parking areas for various Carilion facilities.
• Cross-train in all parking areas.
• Manage The Birth Place entrance and assist maternity patients.
• Operate shuttle service for transportation within an 8-mile radius.
• Drive, inspect, and manage maintenance for all shuttle vehicles.
• Provide after-hours transportation for special groups or tours.
• Park and retrieve vehicles for patients and guests with special needs.
• Issue valet tickets and document vehicle and patient information.
• Track and report daily ticket count for Guest Services.
• Patrol parking areas and contact Police Dispatch for urgent situations.
• Direct discharge vehicles to avoid traffic disruption.
• Provide valet services for visiting executives and special guests.
• Control and designate parking areas for various transport vehicles.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Two years related experience in customer service or parking fields.
• Valid Virginia Operators License and adherence to Qualified Drivers Guidelines.
