About the position

The City of Wentzville is seeking a dynamic and experienced Parks Business & Technology Superintendent to lead and oversee the daily operations of the Administration Division within the Parks and Recreation Department. This role involves managing complex administrative functions, supervising a dedicated team, and contributing to the overall success of the department through strategic leadership and operational oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Administration Division.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of administrative professionals to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Oversee the division's day-to-day operations, including administrative support, customer service, marketing, and communications.
  • Manage the division's budget and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Foster strong relationships with community members, stakeholders, and other city departments to promote the division's goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage various projects, including event planning, program development, and facility management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with city regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Financing, Public Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum of six years of experience in accounting and providing administrative support, including four years of progressively responsible supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in a technology support role is preferred.
  • CPR certification and training in First Aid are required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional job-related advanced degrees or certifications may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification is preferred.
