About the position

The position at Smashburger involves working as a team member in a fast-paced restaurant environment, focusing on providing excellent customer service and preparing food according to established standards. The role offers both part-time and full-time opportunities, with a starting pay of $17 per hour and potential for growth into management roles. Employees are expected to work evenings and weekends as needed, contributing to a positive dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Be a menu expert and follow Smashburger's prep and menu recipe standards to prepare guest orders.
• Read and prepare food orders and receive verbal instructions to cook food accordingly.
• Work collaboratively with others on the line and communicate effectively with team members and managers.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, equipment, and counters at all times.
• Follow checklists and proven systems to set up, stock, and close the kitchen.
• Operate large cooking equipment such as grills and deep fryers, and use knives and slicing equipment safely.
• Foster a safe work environment by adhering to personal and food safety standards.
• Greet guests warmly and ensure a welcoming atmosphere for new and repeat customers.
• Verify guest orders for accuracy and manage 'to-go' orders while processing POS transactions.
• Visit tables post-delivery to ensure guests have everything they need and that their experience is satisfactory.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to show up on time for variable hours/days, including nights and weekends.
• Successful completion of the paid training program is required.
• Ability to follow all guidelines and procedures set forth by Smashburger.
• Must be able to produce authorized U.S. work documents.
