About the position

The Part-Time Accompanist will perform piano accompaniment for MAC choir classes, rehearsals, performances, juries, and recitals. This role is essential for supporting the choir's musical activities throughout the Fall and Spring semesters, requiring advanced piano skills and knowledge of music theory.

Responsibilities

• Perform piano accompaniment for MAC choir classes, rehearsals, performances, juries, and recitals.
• Accompany during all scheduled rehearsals and events.
• Use advanced piano skills and knowledge of music theory to provide piano accompaniment.
• Utilize music sight reading skills when needed in college classes.
• Play parts as needed to assist the choir instructor.
• Accompany soloists and small ensembles as scheduled.
• Assist the music department in related areas as needed.
• Possess knowledge of standard collegiate choral warm-ups.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• At least one year of experience as a piano accompanist.
• Bachelor's Degree or Higher preferred, or comparable piano playing experience.
