About the position
Eco-Cycle is seeking a part-time Accounts Receivable Specialist to support its accounting department at the Boulder headquarters. The role involves optimizing financial transactions, performing reconciliations, and maintaining client relationships while ensuring integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support the company in optimizing financial transactions and systems by performing reconciliation of payments and customer accounts.
- Communicate discrepancies to the supervisor and identify slow-paying customers.
- Recommend collection candidates and strengthen relationships with clients regarding past-due accounts.
- Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for performance improvement.
- Create and issue monthly invoices from QuickBooks (6-12 per month).
- Monitor AR email inbox and respond to payment/invoice inquiries.
- Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date and uncollectible amounts are accounted for.
- Perform daily cash management duties, including recording bank deposits and posting cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger.
- Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail.
- Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R for supervisor review.
- Support other accounting team members and train as AP Coordinator backup.
Requirements
- Understanding of basic general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and general ledger.
- Superb time management and detail orientation.
- Proficiency with commonly used accounting software, i.e., QuickBooks Desktop.
- Adaptability to industry-specific software (Navusoft).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in accounts receivable (or accounts payable) with a minimum of 4-5 years of work experience.
- Self-motivated to complete tasks on a strict timeline.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Microsoft Excel (1 year preferred).
Benefits
- Compensation range of $23.00-$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and expertise.
- Part-time position with less than 20 hours per week, generally between 9:00 and 5:00 pm.
