About the position

HU seeks a part-time/adjunct faculty member to teach a course within our Biotechnology graduate degree program. The course, BTEC508- Omics for Life Sciences, is a 3 semester hour course that covers the basics of genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics from the standpoint of using the information for developing new biotechnologies, especially in personalized medicine. The significance of next generation sequencing will also be covered. This course will be offered online for 1 evening hour per week and then a 4-hour Saturday class, 3 Saturdays a semester, in Harrisburg.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course BTEC508- Omics for Life Sciences.
  • Prepare course materials and lectures.
  • Engage with students during online and in-person classes.
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback.

Requirements

  • PhD in Biotechnology or a relevant field of Life Sciences.
  • Well-versed with Genomics/Proteomics concepts, techniques, and applications.
  • Classroom teaching experience is highly desirable.
