About the position
The Application Reader at Carnegie Mellon University's Integrated Innovation Institute (III) plays a crucial role in the graduate admissions process. This position involves evaluating applications, ensuring equity in the review process, and supporting various admissions tasks during the peak application season. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and contribute to the university's mission of fostering innovation through collaboration across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Holistically evaluating applications based on rubric requirements (approximately 4 application packages per hour)
- Attending extensive application review training to ensure equity in the application process
- Understanding and maintaining strict confidentiality of admissions process and application data
- Attending all required meetings/trainings and responding to office communication in a timely fashion
- Supporting additional admission tasks (emails, application inquiries, etc.) as assigned and appropriate during the admissions season
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least one year of academic admissions experience
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
- Successful background check
