About the position

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Department of Athletics and a member of the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference is accepting applications for a Part-time Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. This part-time position requires strict adherence to the Pennsylvania State University Conference (PSUAC), United States Collegiate Athletic Association(USCAA) and NCAA Division III rules.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in all aspects of the basketball program under the Head Coach's supervision.
• Recruiting, coaching, developing, motivating, and evaluating academically and athletically qualified student athletes.
• Ensuring compliance with appropriate administrative processes pertaining to team travel.
• Managing recruiting travel and budget.
• Monitoring student-athlete eligibility and academic progress.
• Participating in alumni relations, fundraising, and community service efforts as assigned.
• Coordinating with Communications staff to provide information to media outlets and prepare web-based and written materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associate Degree required.
• A minimum of 5 years coaching experience at the High School or Collegiate level.
• Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed for practice, games, and team travel.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.
• Completion of PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and FBI Criminal Background Check.
