About the position

The Part-Time Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Lane Community College is responsible for assisting in the development and management of the Men's Basketball program. This role involves coaching, recruiting, training, and supervising student-athletes while ensuring adherence to college and athletic department policies. The position is temporary and part-time, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends, and may involve travel for games and events.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coaching, recruiting, training, and supervising student-athletes.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the rules governing the sport.
• Maintain statistics and athletic equipment, facilities, and supplies.
• Provide leadership in the personal, athletic, and academic development of student-athletes.
• Assist the Head Coach with fund-raising activities.
• Develop and implement sport strategy and plan practice/training sessions.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant rules, policies, and procedures.
• Promote positive reinforcement and encouragement among student-athletes.
• Participate collaboratively in a team environment.
• Confer with students on athletic evaluation results.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of player experience at the collegiate level or four years at the high school level.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within one month of hire.
• A current and valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

• Two years of higher education or equivalent.
• Coaching experience.
• Recruiting experience at the collegiate level.
• Multilingual skills.
