About the position
The Part-Time Assistant Stable Manager at the Franklin County 4-H Therapeutic Riding Center is responsible for supporting the Stable Manager in daily operations related to horse care and stable maintenance. This role involves hands-on tasks such as feeding, cleaning, and caring for horses, as well as assisting with their exercise and evaluation when qualified. The position requires a commitment to working one weekend day and includes responsibilities that ensure the well-being of the horses and the cleanliness of the stable environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist Stable Manager with tasks as required
- Turnout/bring in horses
- Blanket horses as necessary
- Feed horses hay and grain
- Clean stalls
- Clean and fill waterers/troughs
- Sweep barn aisle
- Give medications and first aid when needed
- Assist with exercising and evaluating horses on horseback if deemed experienced enough
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid US driver's license
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check
- PA State Police Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
- FBI Criminal Background Check
