About the position
The Assistant Stable Manager supports the Stable Manager in daily operations related to horse care and management. This role involves various responsibilities including feeding, cleaning, and caring for horses, as well as assisting with their exercise and evaluation when qualified. The position requires working one weekend day and operating a motor vehicle as part of the job duties.
Responsibilities
- Assist Stable Manager with tasks as required
- Turnout/bring in horses
- Blanket horses as necessary
- Feed horses hay and grain
- Clean stalls
- Clean and fill waterers/troughs
- Sweep barn aisle
- Give medications and first aid when needed
- Assist with exercising and evaluating horses on horseback if deemed experienced enough
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid US driver's license
- Successful completion of a motor vehicle records check
- PA State Police Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
- FBI Criminal Background Check
