Part-time Associate (Cashier)

About the position

The Part-Time Associate (Cashier) plays a crucial role in the Store Operations Team, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience. This position involves maintaining store sections, operating cash registers, and assisting customers with their purchases while adhering to sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise using proper equipment.
• Assure proper pricing on merchandise and check product date codes for rotation.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays and review invoices for accuracy.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all areas of the store and parking lot.
• Operate a cash register, receive payments, and process refunds when approved.
• Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers.
• Assist customers with loading their purchases into their vehicles.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English and interact with the public and co-workers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and product labels.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
