About the position

The Part-Time Associate (Produce) plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining store operations. This position involves providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves with fresh produce, and creating a welcoming shopping environment. Associates are responsible for various tasks including operating cash registers, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting customers with their purchases.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and may order, receive and stock merchandise using proper equipment.
• Assure proper pricing on merchandise and check product date codes to validate proper rotation.
• Stock shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays, and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale and set up advertising/promotional displays.
• Review invoices/bills for accuracy and clean and maintain sanitation standards in all areas of the store.
• Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, and process transactions.
• Process cash and/or credit refunds when approved by management.
• Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages and assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties and record lost/damaged goods and store supplies.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English and interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, and pricing codes.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
