About the position

The Athletic Director at San Gabriel Mission High School (SGMHS) is a part-time leadership role focused on developing and managing the school's athletic program. This position requires strong communication skills, knowledge of sports fundamentals, and experience in coaching, with the goal of fostering a safe and inclusive environment for student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the athletic program at SGMHS.
• Support and serve coaches, parents, and student-athletes.
• Ensure budget stewardship and fundraising for the athletic program.
• Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all student-athletes.
• Coordinate athletic events and competitions.

Requirements

• Administrative skills
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of sports fundamentals
• Experience playing at the high school and/or college level
• Prior coaching experience at the elementary and/or high school level is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• CPR Certification
• Experience with fundraising activities
• Familiarity with Virtus and Play Like a Champion programs.
